{"id":6,"date":"2012-11-10T23:30:52","date_gmt":"2012-11-11T07:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bulaministries.wordpress.com\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2013-01-26T19:44:21","modified_gmt":"2013-01-27T03:44:21","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/bulaministries.org\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BULA\u00a0<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<div title=\"Page 1\">\n<p>The goal of BULA is to recruit, organize and equip people for short-term mission adventures that will mutually challenge each participant and support the ongoing ministries of Christian missionaries serving abroad.<\/p>\n<p>BULA means \u201clife\u201d in Fijian, and is said as a greeting, a way of saying \u2013 \u201cgood life to you\u201d. It is a fitting name for this ministry, because the hope is that through the adventure of short term missions, each participant, and those we minister to, will come to a deeper relationship with Jesus, and truly experience life to the fullest (John 10:10b)<\/p>\n<div title=\"Page 1\">\n<p>You may be asking \u2013Why do we do short-term missions? \u00a0or Why should I get involved on a short-term mission? \u00a0Let me give you a few reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Short-term missions&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Take us out of our comfort zone and force us to see a part of the world we might otherwise ignore<\/li>\n<li>Open our eyes to the needs of others who are suffering<\/li>\n<li>Allow us to see others as Jesus sees them<\/li>\n<li>Stretch our faith<\/li>\n<li>Allow us to participate in ministering to the \u201cleast of these\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Bond us together in a unique way with other believers who are serving with us<\/li>\n<li>Bless not only the lives of those we serve, but our own lives as well<\/li>\n<li>Remove us from the \u201crat-race\u201d we call life, long enough to take a hard look at our priorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our goal with BULA is to give participants a chance&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>to serve Jesus in a unique way<\/li>\n<li>to participate in a life-changing adventure<\/li>\n<li>to build bridges with other cultures<\/li>\n<li>to share the good news of the Gospel around the world<\/li>\n<li>to meet the physical needs of those living in poverty<\/li>\n<li>to grow and be stretched in their faith<\/li>\n<li>to experience the reality that the family of God knows no borders \u2013 it is not limited to the USA!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BULA\u00a0!
